A profitable business can still struggle if cash is not managed effectively. In the second session of the three-part Money Matters series, participants will focus on the Cash Flow Statement and learn how money moves in and out of a business.
This session will examine operating, investing, and financing activities while helping business owners understand the difference between profit and cash flow. Participants will gain practical knowledge for monitoring liquidity, planning for expenses, and making informed financial decisions. Building on concepts introduced in Part 1, this session provides another critical piece of understanding a business's financial picture before concluding with the Balance Sheet in Part 3.
Learning Objectives:
Understand the purpose and components of a Cash Flow Statement
Distinguish between profit and cash flow
Identify sources and uses of cash within a business
Learn how cash flow impacts day-to-day operations
Strengthen financial planning and cash management skills
While each session can be attended independently, participants are encouraged to attend all three sessions to develop a comprehensive understanding of the financial statements commonly used to evaluate and manage a business.
